In summer 2015, the UK's leading research organisations launched the "Concordat on open research". The concordat asks for data to be well managed and made openly available with as few restrictions as possible in a timely and responsible manner. This workshop will explain what that means for you as a PhD student and why it matters to you.

You will:

  • Understand the drivers for Open Research Data and the University's requirements for data management and sharing
  • Learn what a data management plan is and how to go about completing one
  • Be aware of some of the free services and tools available that can help with Research Data Management
