In 2011, Research Councils UK (RCUK) issued the Common Principles on Data Policy. The Policy states that "publicly funded research data are a public good [...] which should be made openly available with as few restrictions as possible in a timely and responsible manner."

What does this mean for your research project? Do I have to write a Data Management Plan? Do I have to share all my data? Do AHRC, BBSRC, ESRC, EPSRC, MRC, NERC or STFC differ in their requirements? What do I need to do as a PhD students?

This session will focus on the practical implications of these funder requirements have on your research data planning, management and data preservation. What do I need to do to be compliant?
