Please note that to attend this Introduction to Teaching at Lancaster (route to ATP) course you will need to have applied for, and been accepted onto, the Associate Teacher Programme (ATP).

Support for associate teachers, in particular Postgraduates and researchers who teach, is provided through the one-day Introduction to Teaching at Lancaster workshops and the Higher Education Academy accredited Associate Teacher Programme (ATP)

You are also encouraged to take advantage of any of the Continuing Professional Development Sharing Practice opportunities, intended for all those at Lancaster involved in teaching and supporting students learning.

It assumes that participants have little or no previous teaching experience.

The day will cover:

- Introduction to Learning and Teaching in HE

- Teaching small groups or demonstrating in laboratories

- Assessment issues

- Effective Communication in the teaching context

- Being a postgraduate tutor - addressing participants' own questions and concerns about teaching

There is no charge for the event, and a light sandwich lunch and refreshments will be provided. You will receive a letter of attendance on completion of the workshop for your/your department's records. Departments are also sent a list confirming the names of all those who attend the Introduction to Teaching at Lancaster days.
