Personal growth as a research leader
Event box
Overview
Research leaders emerge as a result of their research expertise and profile rather than their ability to lead and manage research teams
During this workshop existing PIs, and researchers setting out to establish their research group, will have the opportunity to reflect on their experiences and good practice in academic leadership and begin to develop their own approach which is congruent with their personality and values.
Specifically the Worksop will focus on:
-
Raising self-awareness of your leadership identity and personal impact
-
Establishing respect, credibility and trust as an academic leader
-
Identifying what honest and effective communication looks like both upwards and downwards;
-
Strategically balancing your research role with your wider portfolio; enhancing personal resilience
