The Future of Sustainability in Business | Strategy, Biodiversity and Transitions
An afternoon of talks and networking by the Post Graduate Sustainability in Business Network
The event will bring together post graduate researchers from across the university to listen to talks from Dr Jan Bebbington, Dr Neytullah Ciftci and Camillo Martinez, discuss their chosen Sustainability in Business topics and network with both the speakers and each other.
Speaker information and talk topics:
Our first speaker is Dr Jan Bebbington, Rubin Chair in Sustainability in Business and Director of the Pentland Centre. Jan will briefly outline what she sees as the emerging areas of strategic interest for sustainability in business and will then take questions afterwards and open up the topic for discussion.
Our second speaker Dr Neytullah Ciftci, Research Associate in Business and Biodiversity, will be giving a talk on "business engagement with biodiversity through the world of corporate reporting".
The third speaker Camillo Cornejo Martinez is a Lancaster Law PhD student studying the evolution of the international regulatory framework of Just Transition within the context of climate conflict. In Camillo's talk he will explore how companies are facing claims on sustainability transitions using the Human Rights and Environmental Justice framework.
This event is run by the Post Graduate Sustainability in Business Research Network, which has been put together to connect researchers working on related topics across the university. To find out more about the network please join the teams group.
Light refreshments will be provided and researchers will have the opportunity to both join the network and contribute ideas to what they would like from the network.
