This interactive workshop is aimed at students and staff wishing to find and use images in academic work, but will also be useful for members of staff who are looking for images to use on the University website.

This course will introduce you to:

  • Things to consider before you start searching for images
  • Useful databases and search tools for finding images
  • What you need to know about using other people’s images in your work

By the end of this course you should be able to:

  • Identify your own needs when searching for images
  • Locate and use image sources available from the Library
  • Find creative-commons licenced, or public domain images online

Understand the basics of image licensing, and how and when to attribute
