Resilience, well-being and your PhD
Event box
You're not alone if you find your PhD challenging your sense of personal resilience and well-being! Resilience comes in many shapes and forms yet generally points to the ability to recover from setbacks, to adapt of changing circumstance and keep going in the face of adversity. Pretty good qualities for the demands of PhD life! So how do we build resilience and what can we do when we're not feeling it? In this experiential workshop we'll explore what resilience means for you, how to build it, how to maintain it, as well as what to do when things aren't going to plan. We'll be drawing on a range of insights from the world of coaching and mindfulness to challenge you to create your own personal strategies for your resilience and well-being. Topics we'll be exploring include: definitions of resilience and what they mean for you, managing emotions and how to truly relax, the power of working from your personal vision and turning it into goals. Weather permitting we'll be using the outdoors for parts of this workshop.
