Join us this summer at the Ruskin Library to find out more about the plants and animals that we can find in and around Lancaster! Come along to our free family-friendly nature walks. We’ll spend 45 minutes walking around Lancaster University’s woodland trails spotting flowers and listening to birdsong, and thinking about why these things matter to us. We’ll learn how to identify key plants and birds, and play games along the way. Then, we’ll spend an hour making artworks inspired by our walk, just as John Ruskin used to do.
Suitable for children age 4-11, who must be accompanied by parents.
Later in the school holidays the walk activities (including wordsearches, nature games and ideas for things to do to keep the children busy in the summer months) should be available to download from the Ruskin Library website – free of charge – so that you can enjoy them in your own time.
