Mental Health First Aid is back! 

This 2 day course, run by previous Clinical Lead of the Counselling and Mental Health Service, Sue Crookall will provide attendees with:

  • An in depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing

  • Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues

  • Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress

  • Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening

  • Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support - whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, University services, the NHS, or a mix.

The course takes place over 2 full days: Monday 26th November and Monday 3rd December 2018 and all participants will receive a MHFA manual. Please note that participants will need to attend both days to receive the MHFA qualification at the end of the course. 

The cost of the training for the 2 days in £105, with catering provided. Please email mhfa@lancaster.ac.uk with details of your departmental code to arrange payment. Please note this course is in high demand and it is advised that you ensure you can attend prior to booking. 

The course will take place in LEC3 Training Room 1& 2 (A07- A10)
