FHM.500 (Online) Qualitative Data Analysis Software: Making and Informed Choice between NVivo, ATLAS.ti and other packages
Event box
This streaming online workshop introduces you to how software can support qualitative data analysis - from transcription through to publication - with a particular focus on computer assisted qualitative data analysis software (CAQDAS) packages.
It will explore, through applied practical activities and presentations of other projects, what software can and cannot do, and how this sort of software can help with qualitative analysis and literature reviews.
Online, streaming access to this workshop (being taught face-to-face on campus) will introduce you to what is available for free at Lancaster (NVivo, ATLAS.ti and Leximancer) and how to make an informed choice for your project and data.
ACCESS TO MATERIALS AND LIVE STREAM:
You will need to self-enrol on https://modules.lancaster.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=24232 using the password CAQDAS
You will then have access to all resources and the live stream link + recordings after the event.
RESOURCES AND REQUIREMENTS
In order to make the session more practical and less didactic it would be great if you could do the following:
1) Bring a laptop
2) Go to https://cloud.atlasti.com/registration and register free
3) Bring or have access to some qualitative data for your project - this doesn't need to be empirical research data, though if you do have any please do bring it, but can include a key article, a news story or website related to your research topic or your project proposal.
