These weekly workshops are focussed on developing English language for academic writing. They run every term and are particularly useful for students whose first language is not English. They are open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. All of the workshops are stand-alone, so you can sign up for the ones that are most relevant to you.

Writing an effective paragraph

This session explores how to write paragraphs in a focussed, coherent way, with logical development of ideas. It looks at how to include transitions from one paragraph to the next, indicating to readers the progression of your argument. Bring along a piece of your own writing.
