Do you need help to start with a research topic or literature review?
This session introduces Scopus as a tool for PhD students and researchers who need access to the latest relevant research. It is aimed at beginners and intermediate users.
Developed by Elsevier, Scopus is one of the world’s largest curated abstract and citation databases of peer-reviewed literature, including 25.300+ scientific journals, 231.000+ books and conference proceedings from >5.000 publishers, covering research topics across all scientific and technical disciplines, ranging from medicine and social sciences to arts and humanities.
A live demonstration will show how Scopus can be used and some of the key benefits of its use.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will be able to:
1. Use advanced search to conduct in-depth literature searches for literature reviews or to find relevant information
2. Analyse and track research trends to make connections within or across disciplines and identify new research areas and potential collaborators
3. See the main journals and most prolific authors in your area of interest informing your own decisions about where to submit manuscripts for publication
4. Organise results and personalize Scopus
5. Find resources of further help if problems are encountered
