Are you a library or information professional who is expected to design and deliver educational talks or workshops to adult library users, but you have never been taught how best to do so? Are you worried that your participants will be unmotivated or confused during your library training sessions? Do you sometimes feel like an imposter? Or are you feeling bored with delivering the same material?

 

Join Tanya Williamson to learn about ways to focus on designing for learning. This will be a supportive session, where you can safely voice your concerns and ideas. Tanya will share some ‘teaching and learning essentials and some practical tips that have worked in her own teaching practice.  

 

 

Biography 

Tanya is a Chartered Librarian and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Tanya is currently a Research Support Advisor at University of Leeds Libraries. She formerly worked at Public Health England / UK Health Security Agency as a Knowledge & Evidence Specialist, and at Lancaster University Library as a Faculty Librarian, where her role focused on supporting teaching and learning with the Faculty of Health and Medicine.  t.h.williamson@leeds.ac.uk.
