The session aims to provide a detailed overview of the components of both Parliament and Government and how to engage and influence both elements of policymaking.
As part of this interactive in person workshop, Huw Edwards, former MP, will cover the following topics:
- An overview of Parliament
- Opportunities to Influence including Parliamentary Questions, Select Committees and All Party Parliamentary Groups
- Engaging with MPs
- Research in Government
- The role of Ministers and Civil Servants
There will be additional time after the session for questions and advice on more specific examples of policy engagement within your field of research or any areas you need further guidance on.
