Join LGBTQIA+ Ally Network Chair, Monet Booker, for a one hour introduction session where we will explore ways to become active allies and support those around us in the LGBT+ community.

We’ll discuss important topics such as LGBT+ definitions and history, current barriers and issues faced by those in the LGBT+ community, current LGBT+ policies and resources from Lancaster University, local organisations and national support networks. We’ll also discuss how allies can enable positive change through active listening and advocacy.

At the end of the session, there will be an opportunity to join our Safe Home Base programme, a great way to become an active listener and visible source of support for LGBTQIA+ colleagues and students.

This event is open to all staff and students of Lancaster University.
