The session will cover the role of the secretary in supporting committees, preparation of minutes, managing confidential material and adopting a paperless approach. This session will now be delivered in person. 

Learning objectives :

  • Develop an understanding of the University’s approach to preparing minutes for committees, meetings and working groups;

  • Understand best practice of drafting an agenda for meetings;

  • Develop an understanding of the role of the secretary in supporting committees through managing the business, advising the chair, managing the ‘experience’ and taking a proactive role;

  • Develop an understanding of managing confidential material and Freedom of Information;

  • Develop a paperless approach to managing committees through the use of One Drive.

  • Understand the considerations needed when servicing a digital meeting.
