Data Management Plans (DMPs), which are a requirement of all research projects conducted at Lancaster University, are evolving. Leaving the written document behind, DMPs will become machine actionable, active, living interactions with dedicated systems, saving researchers time and effort, and allowing automation. In their infancy as a concept, Lancaster University is about to take necessary steps to change the culture of DMP authoring in preparation for the day when maDMPs become the norm.
