Being an Active Ally for Disabled and Neurodivergent People
Event box
Join us to explore the definition of disability, the various barriers that can be all too common for disabled people, and how we as allies can begin to enable positive change for those around us.
We will explore a range of topics including, the definitions and terminology surrounding disability and neurodivergence, the statistics, impact and research currently ongoing across the UK, and understanding the true purpose of allyship, including how to be a proactive, positive ally for disabled and neurodivergent colleagues, students and all those around us.
Perfect for all staff, new or old, in particular those in student-facing roles, and those with line management responsibilities.
Registrations will close 30 minutes prior to the event. The session will be delivered on Teams, with live captioning made available. Some group participation may be facilitated via Padlet, Mentimeter, or Teams chat. If you have any accessibility requests, please contact us at edi@lancaster.ac.uk.
We plan to repeat this session on a monthly basis, but can also deliver to whole teams on request. For more information, contact edi@lancaster.ac.uk.
