In this session students and researchers will learn how and where to find data and statistics from a variety of sources both from within library subscriptions and externally. 

By the end of this session students/researchers should be able to: 

  • Differentiate between primary and secondary data 

  • Understand why we might look for secondary data in our research 

  • Identify where to search for data 

  • Understand the importance of statistics 

  • Identify then navigate and use specialist databases and search engines that focus on statistics
