Bystander Training Workshops
Event box
Lancaster University and Lancaster City Council are developing bystander training workshops to be run with students, night-time economy workers, and groups from the wider, local community. The Students' Union is supporting this activity to improve the safety of students on-campus and in the community. Workshops will take place in The Sugarhouse.
The workshops will explore personal experiences of bystander behaviour, and work on translating research evidence about bystander behaviour into practical bystander intervention skills.
Participants will have the chance to work through the kinds of bystander events they might experience in their everyday lives.
These might include arguments in the street, harassment on public transport, predatory behaviour in night-clubs, aggressive behaviour towards service workers, and so on.
The workshops will last two hours – and will help you develop practical and successful bystander intervention skills
