Evidence suggests that people from Black Asian and Minority Ethnic communities are at higher risk of developing a mental health problem in adulthood. But they’re less likely to receive support for their mental health. We're partnering with NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria this Black History Month to encourage people from across all of our communities to engage with their Talking Therapies.

NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria Talking Therapies is a free psychological therapy service for people aged 16 and over in Lancashire. They offer a range of brief psychological interventions to support various emotional needs, including generalised anxiety, panic, depression, OCD, and PTSD. Services are available online, by telephone, and face-to-face, and also cater to individuals with long-term conditions experiencing anxiety or low mood.

The team comprises psychological wellbeing practitioners, cognitive behavioural therapists, counsellors, employment advisors, team leaders, and admin staff. Self-referral is possible via their website or by phone.

Talking Therapies can help with a variety of mental health issues, and during appointments, practitioners will discuss the best treatment options. They also offer employment support for those experiencing work-related stress or difficulties.

Come by the stand on Tuesday in the Library to find out more, take away some handy resources and work out the next steps to supporting your mental health journey.
