Abstract: AI has become an integral part of everyday life, from our phones to our shopping trips, you can’t avoid it! Researchers are using it more and more for project tasks and plenty of feasibility studies have been published around AI for evidence synthesis, yet generic use is barely reported in the literature. This may be a reflection of the uncertainty that researchers feel around AI. Varied concerns are being raised about its use. I’ll be talking about a project I’ve been working on to map those concerns. What are people worried about? How do we navigate the concerns? Is AI really the way forward or should we stick with traditional methods? Join me for this Systematic Review Conversation where we’ll discuss the diamond in the rough or the monster in the dark.

About Hannah: I am a research associate at the NIHR Innovation Observatory. I am trained as an Information Specialist and Data Scientist and, as part of my role, I am an editor of the Systematic Review Toolbox. I have a keen interest in automation and am currently doing a PhD which is looking at the use of AI to enhance evidence synthesis and horizon scanning methodologies. Tags/Names:
