Join Dr Christopher Donaldson and Dr Oliver Wilkinson of the Regional Heritage Centre, Department of History, Lancaster University in this webinar to learn more about the Postgraduate Certificate Regional and Local History (Distance Learning).

This online, distance learning, programme offers the opportunity for those interested in regional and local history to gain an award from a top UK university (Lancaster is ranked in the top 10 in The Complete University Guide 2025) that is renowned for its expertise in this field and has significant experience in delivering high quality distance programmes.

Whether you are interested in rural areas or urban centres, counties or kingdoms, uplands or lowlands, this programme will equip you with the skills, knowledge and confidence that you need to conduct primary research of your own in this vibrant and varied field.

The programme, now recruiting for a start in October 2025, will appeal to anyone who is enthusiastic about History, particularly those who wish to deepen their awareness of the importance of local experience in shaping our understandings of national and international trends. Moreover, the flexible nature of the programme allows you to combine your learning with work, family or other commitments.

At this session Drs Donaldson and Wilkinson will give an overview of the programme and there will then be an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
