World Digital Preservation Day: Why Preserve?: Digital Preservation in Action
Event box
World Digital Preservation Day (WDPD) is held on the first Thursday of every November to promote and raise the profile of digital preservation. Digital Preservation is a series of managed activities necessary to ensure continued access to digital data for as long as necessary.
WDPD 2026 theme is Why preserve? This encourages practitioners to reflect on their motives for preserving their unique digital collections and share their stories. This display looks at digital preservation, why we need to preserve digital data, and how we are preserving digital data and associated metadata at Lancaster.
The exhibition will be in the Library Stairwell from Tuesday 4th November.
