Research Culture Week - a Sector, Institutional and Faculty overview

The Research Culture Week starts in the Margaret Fell Lecture Theatre - you will leave with a good overview of the institutional and faculty strategies and initiatives to enhance research culture. Find out about some of the challenges being faced institutionally and across the sector and gain an understanding of the relationship between research culture and REF2029.
The morning is made up of the following sessions:
10.00-10.20 | Welcome and Introductions -strategy, initiatives and an overview of the Research Culture Week
In this session you will be walked through the strategy and initiatives happening in Research Culture at Lancaster.
Professor Malcolm Joyce, Interim Pro-VC for Research & Enterprise will open the session, followed by presentations from:
- Professor Kendi Guantai, Dean for Culture and Inclusion
- Dr Amy Mayfield, Research Culture Manager
- Professor Stijn Mertens, Academic Director of Research Culture
10.20-11.10 | Research Culture in the Faculties
Join the panel discussion to hear perspectives from each of the faculties on creating a flourishing and inclusive research culture at Lancaster.

11.40-12.30 | Research Culture and REF 2029 - People, Culture and Environment (PCE)
This session will explore how creating a positive and healthy research people, culture and environment helps to enable research excellence.
12.30-13.30 | Lunch
A light sandwich lunch will be served in the Margaret Fell Lecture Theatre foyer. Another opportunity to chat with colleagues and browse the exhibitions.
