Looking for a new perspective, space to step back, reflect and develop creative skills? These lunch break workshops, open to all LU staff, will utilise different creative practices focusing on a prompt related to public and community engagement at the university, to spark deeper conversations about the topic and encourage connection across departmental divides.

The sessions will be relaxed and sociable (with no pressure to make a masterpiece!) – but discover how using these creative methods could aid your thinking. Hosted on the first Wednesday of each month and taking place in the Digital Studio in the library unless otherwise stated.

22nd October: Collage - Using collage to visualise your journey and help gain clarity on your motivations and interests.

29th October: Zine Making  - Visions and values, a session to capture some big ideas in a zine (think mini magazine).

3rd December:  Christmas Origami  - Christmas social get together to make some origami paper decorations (and eat mince pies!).

These sessions are hosted as part of the Public Engagement Network:

The Public Engagement Network brings together staff from across the University to share good practice and support each other. Its members share training and development opportunities, including resources and news, with the aim of building connections, learning from each other and promoting public engagement with research.   Whether you are a researcher, academic, or member of professional services staff, the network is for everyone at any stage of their career, no matter what your experience with public engagement.

Staff can join the network on Teams and start connecting with colleagues straight away. Make sure to turn on notifications to hear about future opportunities, including training and development, opportunities to take part in events, funding, news and collaborations.
