This short course is made up of three workshops, each addressing a different aspect of studying in English. It is likely to be most useful for students at the start of their studies at Lancaster. The workshops cover the following topics:

  1. Getting the most out of lectures (week 2)
  2. Approaching academic reading (week 3)
  3. Participating in discussions and developing spoken English (week 4)

They provide the space to share experiences, explore challenges and get some practical suggestions as you develop study practices that you will then build on as the academic year progresses.

This group is open to postgraduate taught students. If the group is full, please add your name to the waiting list as it may be possible to schedule additional sessions.
