Our Approaching academic writing in English short course is made up of three workshops (one each week in weeks 6-8) and provides a space to explore and unpick some of the key features of academic writing in English. It is likely to be most useful for postgraduate students at the start of their studies at Lancaster but is open to returning students as well.

Week 7: Exploring expectations

In this session we will explore common structural features of English academic texts and discuss how they help to create clarity, coherence and cohesion.
