LUMS Postgraduate Writing Series: The challenges and complexities of academic writing

This workshop series focuses on key areas of academic writing, this includes; challenges and complexities, assignment types, argumentation, reading and researching, managing source material, developing your voice, criticality and referencing.
These workshops are for postgraduate students in the Management School. Any PG student from LUMS can attend.
The workshops aim to provide clarity and guidance for PG LUMS students who;
- Have worries or concerns about transitioning to PG study
- Feel their academic backgrounds are very different to UK PG study, including students who have studied in another country or students who have been away from education for some time
- Are interested in developing and improving their academic writing
- Would like to engage in this learning community and develop peer learning networks.
In this session we look at the challenges and complexities of academic writing, reflect on the reality of the writing process, and explore some of the key features of academic writing.
