Preparing for Lancaster, Pros and Cons of AI, Embedding Digital

Weighing in the pros and cons of AI use from an academic's perspective? Dr Michelle To, Psychology

In this session, Michelle will share her experiences and thoughts with Amber AI assessments in Psychology modules (2nd and final year). Rather than fight and forbid the use of AI, Michelle proposes teaching students to use it responsibly and will present some of the shift in focus when marking Amber AI coursework.

Preparing for Lancaster (P4L) Adele Armistead | Digital Resources Officer  

The P4L course aims to support new students transition into university life by giving them the information they need to know, help manage expectations, and advice about where to find support. The current modules are located here: Course: Preparing for Lancaster: Undergraduate 2025/2026 | Moodle and Course: Preparing for Lancaster: Postgraduate 2025/2026 | Moodle Adele has been working on revising the current materials to simplify the content, reduce duplication, ensure content is accessible to Widening Participation students and relevant to UK and international UG, PG and PGR students and relevant to campus based and distance learners.  The session will provide an opportunity to learn more about new developments and offer feedback.

Embed Digital online good practice guidance, Rowan Hall,  

"Introducing Embed Digital - an update and redesign of the former Embrace Digital webpages. The new site provides comprehensive guidance in one place and has been designed to help staff at any level of digital capability to build confidence, embrace new approaches and improve digital practice. Along with continuing a strong focus on pedagogy and digital accessibility, the new guidance also has digital sustainability, information security, and digital wellbeing interwoven throughout. The Digital Adoption team in ISS would really value your feedback about this initial version of Embed Digital and are looking for people interested in sharing their own practice as a case study."
