LinkedIn and beyond: talking about strengths without feeling like an imposter (In-person)
Event box
LinkedIn is an increasingly important tool for building research collaborations, exploring career options, and being discovered by potential employers. Yet many researchers feel unsure how to present themselves effectively, often held back by uncertainty, lack of confidence, or imposter-type feelings when considering new roles or sectors.
This practical, supportive workshop will help you move forward with clarity and confidence. You’ll gain insight into how career transitions work, how to articulate and promote your skills and expertise, and how to position yourself for opportunities that align with your goals. We’ll also address common challenges in the job search process, including overcoming limiting self-beliefs and navigating uncertainty.
Crucially, this is a hands-on session: you’ll have dedicated time to actively work on and improve your LinkedIn profile, applying guidance and getting peer feedback in real time. Create a strong, authentic profile that highlights your research and career achievements, increases your visibility, and makes it easier for the right people to find you. You’ll also make a start with using LinkedIn strategically to research roles and sectors, while connecting with peers for shared insight and support.
