REF2029 SPRE Workshop: Turning Ideas into Drafts
Event box
This interactive workshop will help clarify expectations, identify key messages and evidence, and provide the structure and guidance needed to begin building compelling first drafts. It will be suitable for those with experience and those without and we encourage multiple attendees from each unit of assessment. Individuals with expertise crossing units, such as faculties or institutes are also very welcome.
Specifically, the workshop will be an opportunity to:
- Surface perspectives and build shared understanding of the expected SPRE statements (recognising that we are still awaiting full guidance)
- Identify the key themes, priorities, and critical through-lines between institutional and unit-level statements
- Ensure that each unit feels their distinctive strengths, identity and ambitions are reflected in the institutional narrative so they can connect to this and expand on it locally
- Explore the ideas, evidence-types and insights needed to inform future drafting of both IL and UL statements
We hope you'll join us for an interactive discussion to exchange perspectives, generate new ideas, and shape shared understanding of the SPRE statements.
Expected attendees: current or previous environment statement authors, UoA leads, Heads of School/Departments, departmental Research Directors, faculty or institute senior roles.
