[In-Person] Assignments Part 1 - Moodle Assignments

Moodle is our virtual learning environment (VLE) and is used for the majority of coursework submissions at Lancaster, particularly for text-based assessments. This 90-minute hands-on session will cover all aspects of conducting online submission of coursework and online marking with opportunities to practice during hands-on segments. We will cover basic submission of essays, but also more advanced submissions such as audio and video along with a plethora of marking scenarios including feedback forms, rubrics, and marking guides.
This session takes place in-person in Library Training Room 1
Outcomes:
At the end of this session you will be able to:
- Define assessments in LUSI that are submitted via Moodle.
- Configure the Moodle assignment for different submission scenarios.
- Understand how "creative" submissions such as audio/video submission work.
- Determine which combination of marking methods works best for you.
- Control the release of grades and feedback to students.
- View the online submission and marking process from the student's perspective.
Suitable For:
This is an in-depth session and will cover the administration of online assessment as well as giving grades and feedback, as such it's recommended for both professional services and academic staff.
